Everytime I get the camera out, it's like she has to pose. I would love to get a shot of her sleeping. She justs curls up so tight in a little ball, but the head always pops up with the camera and besides she's so black that you lose all contrast in a picture. She is such a sweetie. and isn't her tail the cutest? :D
Andrea, he is lovely! Almost as pretty as my Tex (but maybe I'm just a little biased…) Tex doesn't bother to keep his tail as tightly curled anymore, Querk's looks beautiful and he has a great coat!

Looks like they are having a great time. This will be my first Christmas with Hollie (we boarded her last year) and I can't wait to see how she reacts to all the excitement.
My basenji mix also loves to destuff her toys. I stick to the $1.00 cheapies and rather enjoy watching her go after it. Glad to know others experience this also.
I am new to the breed and want to say that I am pleased to see some folks willing to step up to the plate and voice concerns. Bs are a different breed and there are truly concerns for breeding them as I have read some of their history. Thanks to you who share your knowledge and thanks to Andrew for taking concern!
lol yea most basenji's are actually yodelers i was just messing with the harmonica one time and she came up to me and sat down next to me and started to sing. The spoon was funny it happened once and it was her way of telling us that she hasnt been fed. When she grabbed the spoon im asking my mom maybe shes hungry? and my mom says oh right she hasnt been fed yet, she didnt want to give back the spoon though
I got one of those bathroom trash cans with the lid & pedal and my Sahara figured out how to get into it. She is sooooo smart, I had to put the can into my bathroom cabinet under the sink. These B's amaze me every day, they are too smart for us humans. haha
@Quercus:

@JoeyQ:
WOW! Willy is sooooooooooooooooo adorable! How is his coat so shiny?! (new dog owner here) My Joey, red and white, will be a year on Monday!!! We have had him 1 1/2 months and I already want another… B&W!! I think Bs are the best breed!
I think some of it may be the camera shot itself or the editing. I do know my wife uses a shampoo before shows that is for black dogs…...they also have for reds as well. Good feed will also improve coat quality, we feed Royal Canan dog food.
We are all so very lucky to have such a wonderful and unique breed of dog that IMO is like no other......addicting too!:)
